Gakuen Alice ep2
I'm liking the anime better and better. I still don't like the anime character designs, but I knew this series would animate well. <3 I like all the little quirky movements they give Mikan in addition to the fun weirdness that was already there. Luca makes his first appearances in this episode. I don't know how I feel yet about Luca's voice - it's not exactly what I expected, but I'll reserve judgment for later.
So continuing from the last episode, Natsume breaks down the school wall in an effort to escape from the school. Narumi-sensei, with a little help from his bean-whip and his Alice (which is pheromones, which they'll explain later anyhow), subdues Natsume and brings the both of them into the school. All this whipping little boys, strange powers, etc gets Mikan worrying about what kind of school Gakuen Alice really is. :P

Natsume-kun after Narumi-sensei's worked his Alice. XD; Aww. He's so cute! XD XD XD
Narumi-sensei brings them to a room before he leaves to report to his superiors. So Mikan's left alone with the passed-out Natsume as she waits. Left alone, Mikan finally has time to think about what's happened so farlet her imagination run wild. XP Oh, I forgot to mention, when Natsume first shows up, he's wearing a black cat mask (which, I don't think they explain in the anime, but in the manga, it's explained as being kind of a limiter that they put on to contain the person's Alice. But of course, Natsume, being the boy-genius and all is able to use his alice even with it on if he works at it hard enough). So anyways, Mikan associates black cats with him - black cats which her grandpa says you should keep away from. I guess in japan black cats are also a bad sign? Anyways, she wonders a bit about the mask and thinks perhaps it's like Narumi sensei's earings, etc (a form of decoration) >_> But then...
LOL. Mikan, your imagination is just great!

Right about this point, Misaki-sensei comes barging in yelling and looking for Narumi-sensei about the bean-whip thing Narumi-sensei stole from him. This freaks Mikan out seeing what she was thinking about just earlier. Mikan grapples on to him and they have a little talk about how Mikan's worried about what kind of scary person Narumi-sensei might be. :P~ (she is really cute here! when she's talking about is. :3 ) At the same time, Narumi is having a talk with (I'm pretty sure it's Serina-sensei, even though they don't really show her) about Mikan, and how he thinks she may have a really rare alice. Anyways, back to Misaki and Mikan. I die. repeatedly. When Misaki explains Narumi's alice to Mikan. OMG. WTF are those sounds I hear in the background. XD;; I die. I can't even begin to imagine Ishida-san in the recording studio. XD;; ASDJKLjkld;as Basically, he has pheromone powers - he can exude them for both males and females, and make the person do what he wantsthrough this ero-power. Sometime when the target is really young and defenseless against this kind of thing, they get completely malleable and may even pass out (like Natsume).
what kind of alice is that last one in the lower left hand corner. o___o;;
Anyways, eventually Misaki-sensei leaves and Natsume wakes up and threatens Mikan to tell him who she is. here Have I mentioned how much I love the fact that Paku Romi is doing Natsume's voice? Well, let me just say it again! Rabu! :3
While Natsume's threatening her, Luca comes via eagle, through the window to help Natsume esacape.
Luca toujou! although really his isn't quite as impressive as Narumi-sensei's and Natsume's first appearances
More of Mikan getting bullied. poor Mikan. :P~
Right then, both sensei's come back into the room, and Mikan is able to escape. But her skirt falls off on accident and they all see her underwear. :P Actually in the manga, Natsume actually takes her panties off when they're struggling, and when he leaves he has her panties (instead of her skirt) in his hands when he calls her Mizutama (polk-a-dot) pantsu. XD;;
Much screaming and weeping ensues. XD Narumi-sensei even suggests at one point that she have Natsume take responsibility. To which mikan's response is... But like a little kid, mood take a 180 shortly after.
Narumi-sensei then tells her that she's been accepted to the school... on the condition that she passes a test in the 1st week. The test is to be able to get along with her classmates. As they're talking, the class representatives arive. And they're Hotaru! and Tobita (Iincho!). The bit where Hotaru and Mikan meet up again is done pretty cute, but I still like the manga version here a tad bit better. Especially the bits where Mikan gets bigger and bigger (ie closer and closer) and Hotaru gets smaller and smaller (further and further away). The expressions on their faces in the manga is just a tad cuter. :P But they make up for it because this(where she's smiling so Hotaru will "recognize" her) and this is just adorable. :3
Anyways, more caps here, when Mikan first sees the her class B-gumi and etc. And of course Natsume and Luca are in the same class, too.

Anyways, Hotaru tells Mikan that she should rely on herself to get through this - she's not going to involve herself in unnecessarily troublesome things since she wants to win some sort of model student award. So she's going to pretend she doesn't know who Mikan is.
So Mikan makes it to her seat, and who should be sitting next to her but Natsume (and Luca). She gets in a bit of a fit, calling him names, etc. But Natsume is the leader of the pack, so things aren't looking to good for Mikan...
And that's right about where it ends! Looking forward to the next episode. :D
One last cap - look! in the previews! It's Higuchi-sensei! :P~ (thats how she always draws herself. :3)
Why is no one watching this? *weep* People watching/reading Gakuen Alice, where are you? ;__; I guess it's another case of series which are popular in Japan not being the same as the ones popular over here. Or it could be because the manga isn't being scanlated (as far as I know... I haven't actually scoured the internet to see if it is) and the anime isn't being fansubbed right now. Although, I have hopes it will be?
